SEE ALSO...

PTP IA-2 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PTP IA-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PTP IA-2 antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PTP IA-2, also known as PTPRN, IA2, ICA512, or RPTPN, is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase that plays a crucial role in regulating secretory granule exocytosis, particularly in neuroendocrine cells such as pancreatic islet cells. PTP IA-2 is characterized by a transmembrane structure, which includes an extracellular N-terminus, an intracellular phosphatase domain, and a transmembrane region, allowing effective mediation of signaling pathways involved in insulin secretion. PTP IA-2 localization to secretory granules is vital for function, as this facilitates precise hormone release in response to physiological stimuli. PTP IA-2 is recognized as an autoantigen in insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), and autoantibodies against PTP IA-2 serve as significant biomarkers for diabetes diagnosis, highlighting importance in both clinical and research settings.

Are there any issues with using sc-390101: PTP IA-2 (A-5) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-390101 conjugates.
