PTEN Antibody (DCS-202) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to recognize the full-length PTEN protein, also known as phosphatase and tensin homolog, MMAC1, or TEP1. Anti-PTEN antibody (DCS-202) specifically targets human PTEN and is recommended for use in immunoprecipitation (IP) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. PTEN is a critical tumor suppressor protein localized primarily in the cytoplasm, where it regulates cellular processes by dephosphorylating key signaling molecules. PTEN′s cytoplasmic localization is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis, as PTEN antagonizes the PI3K/AKT pathway, thereby controlling cell growth, proliferation, and survival. The loss or mutation of PTEN is frequently associated with various cancers, including glioblastomas, breast, kidney, and prostate cancers, underscoring PTEN′s vital role in preventing tumorigenesis. Additionally, PTEN is implicated in Cowden disease, an autosomal dominant condition that predisposes individuals to multiple types of cancer. By targeting the full-length PTEN protein, PTEN (DCS-202) antibody enables researchers to study PTEN′s function and regulation in human cells, facilitating advancements in cancer research and the development of targeted therapies. PTEN monoclonal antibody (DCS-202) is an indispensable tool for investigating PTEN-related signaling pathways and understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer progression.
