PRPK Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects PRPK in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRPK, also known as TP53RK, is a 253 amino acid protein kinase that plays a crucial role in regulating p53 by phosphorylating Ser15, which enhances p53′s stability and activity. This phosphorylation allows p53 to effectively upregulate genes associated with growth arrest and apoptosis in response to cellular stress, thereby influencing critical processes such as programmed cell death and cell cycle control. PRPK localization to the nucleus positions anti-PRPK antibody (B-7) to directly interact with p53 and other nuclear proteins involved in these regulatory pathways. PRPK shows high expression in testis, with lower levels in heart, kidney, and spleen, indicating potential roles in reproductive biology and cellular stress responses. CGI-121 has been identified as a potential inhibitor of the PRPK-p53 interaction, which may have implications for cancer research, as unphosphorylated p53 is targeted for degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, potentially leading to unchecked cell proliferation.
