Prolactin Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Prolactin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Prolactin antibody (H-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Prolactin, a 226 amino acid protein, is primarily secreted by the anterior pituitary gland and plays a crucial role in numerous physiological processes, including cell growth, reproduction, and immune regulation. Notably, Prolactin is involved in angiogenesis, as secreted by endothelial cells, and has been implicated in mammary cancer development, acting as both a mitogen and a differentiating agent. Furthermore, Prolactin enhances B cell hybridoma proliferation, leading to increased antibody production, and counteracts the antiproliferative effects of immunosuppressive cytokine transforming growth factor-beta. Additionally, Prolactin is associated with various autoimmune diseases, such as arthritis and type 1 diabetes, highlighting its significance in both normal physiology and disease states.
