Datasheets
  • Prolactin Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 κ, cited in 2 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 193-213 near the C-terminus of Prolactin of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Prolactin of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and equine, canine and porcine
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for Prolactin Antibody (B-8) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with Prolactin Antibody (B-8) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

Prolactin Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects Prolactin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Prolactin, a 226 amino acid protein, is primarily secreted by the anterior pituitary gland and plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including lactation, reproduction, and immune regulation. Prolactin (B-8) antibody is involved in the development of mammary tissue and has been implicated in mammary cancer, where Prolactin acts as both a mitogen and a differentiating agent, promoting cell proliferation and differentiation. Additionally, Prolactin enhances the proliferation of B cell hybridomas, significantly increasing antibody production, which is vital for effective immune responses. Prolactin′s ability to counteract the antiproliferative effects of the immunosuppressive cytokine TGF-beta further underscores its importance in maintaining immune homeostasis. Moreover, Prolactin′s association with autoimmune diseases such as arthritis and type 1 diabetes highlights its multifaceted role in health and disease, making anti-Prolactin antibody (B-8) an essential tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271758 P appropriate for?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
