PRIM1 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRIM1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRIM1 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRIM1 protein, also known as DNA primase small subunit or p49, plays a crucial role in DNA replication by synthesizing small RNA primers necessary for the formation of Okazaki fragments on the lagging strand. This 420 amino acid protein forms a heterodimer with PRIM2A, another essential component of the DNA primase complex, which is vital for the accurate and efficient replication of eukaryotic DNA. PRIM1′s importance extends beyond its fundamental role in DNA synthesis; PRIM1 is coamplified with other genes in the 12q13 amplicon in human osteosarcoma, suggesting a potential role in tumorigenesis. Additionally, studies in zebrafish have shown that PRIM1 mutations don′t affect cell proliferation but can trigger neuronal apoptosis, likely through the activation of the ATM-Chk2-p53 apoptotic pathway, highlighting PRIM1′s significance in cellular integrity and response to DNA damage.
