Presenilin 2 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Presenilin 2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Presenilin 2 antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Presenilin 2 plays a crucial role in processing amyloid precursor protein (APP), which is significant because improper processing can lead to amyloid-beta peptide accumulation, a hallmark of Alzheimer′s disease. Presenilin 2 is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, where Presenilin 2 participates in forming the gamma-secretase complex, essential for cleaving APP. Presenilin 2 interaction with other proteins, such as nicastrin and Aph-1, is vital for assembly and function of this complex, highlighting Presenilin 2′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing neurodegeneration. Mutations in the gene encoding Presenilin 2 have been linked to familial forms of early-onset Alzheimer′s disease, underscoring Presenilin 2′s relevance in neurodegenerative disorders.
