PREP-1 Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PREP-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PREP-1 (B-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PREP-1 plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation, particularly in pre-B cell acute leukemias, where PREP-1 is often implicated in chromosomal rearrangements such as the t(1;19)(q23;p13.3) that leads to the formation of a fusion gene between E2A and Pbx1. This fusion results in a protein that combines the transactivation domain of E2A with the homeobox domain of Pbx1, which is essential for the regulation of genes involved in cell proliferation and differentiation. Additionally, PREP-1 interacts with Pbx proteins to form stable complexes that enhance the transcription of the urokinase gene, thereby influencing processes such as cell migration and invasion. PREP-1′s ability to modulate transcriptional activity makes PREP-1 a significant factor in both normal cellular functions and pathological conditions, highlighting PREP-1′s importance in cancer research and therapeutic development.

Dear Sir, I have 2 quesions: 1. Does this antibody work well for chip(PREP-1 Antibody (B-2) sc-25282)? 2. Does this antibody still work for chip and immunohistochemical experiment after left at room temperature overnight? Thank you!

Asked by: zhidong
Thank you for your question. PREP-1 Antibody (B-2): sc-25282 is recommended for detection of PREP-1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA, so you can perform immunohistochemistry with this antibody using the standard protocol provided on our website. A TransCruz reagent for Gel Supershift and ChIP applications with higher concentration and an optimized buffer is also available for this antibody: sc-25282 X. You can also take a look at publication PMID 30337366, in which the antibody has been used for ChIP.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-25282 X be used instead of the standard form sc-25282?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
