SEE ALSO...

PR Antibody (AB-52) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect both PR-A and PR-B isoforms of the progesterone receptor across mouse, rat, and human species using western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications. PR monoclonal antibody (AB-52) is produced by immunizing with native human progesterone receptor purified from breast cancer cells, ensuring robust affinity and specificity for accurate detection. Progesterone receptor (PR) is a vital nuclear hormone receptor located within the cell nucleus, where PR functions as a transcription factor to regulate gene expression in response to progesterone binding. Nuclear localization is crucial for PR′s role in controlling essential biological processes such as the menstrual cycle, maintenance of pregnancy, and development of reproductive tissues. PR exists in two main isoforms, PR-A and PR-B, which are transcribed from distinct promoters and exhibit different functional properties. PR-B primarily acts as a transcriptional activator, promoting expression of genes involved in cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis, while PR-A functions as a transcriptional repressor, modulating activity of other steroid hormone receptors. PR monoclonal antibody (AB-52) is recommended for investigating progesterone signaling pathways, receptor dynamics, and implications in health and disease, thereby facilitating a deeper understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying hormone action and potential therapeutic targets.
