    SEE ALSO...

PPIH Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PPIH (peptidylprolyl isomerase H) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PPIH is a 177 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in protein folding and catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds, which is essential for the proper functioning of numerous proteins. Anti-PPIH antibody (C-5) recognizes a protein particularly important in pre-mRNA splicing, where PPIH interacts with processing factors such as PRPF3, PRPF4, and PRPF18, contributing to the assembly of the U4/U5/U6 tri-snRNP complex. As a protein chaperone, PPIH not only facilitates the correct folding of proteins but also mediates interactions within the spliceosome, ensuring efficient splicing and gene expression regulation. The presence of a cyclophilin-type domain in PPIH allows PPIH to exhibit peptidyl-prolyl isomerase activity, which is inhibited by cyclosporin A, highlighting PPIH′s potential as a target for therapeutic intervention in diseases where protein misfolding is a factor. PPIH monoclonal antibody (C-5) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the intricate processes of RNA splicing and protein interactions in various biological contexts.

Can PPIH (C-5): sc-390798 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, PPIH (C-5): sc-390798 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
