    SEE ALSO...

PPEF-2 Antibody (41) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PPEF-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-PPEF-2 antibody (41) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). PPEF-2 protein, also known as protein phosphatase, EF-hand calcium binding domain 2, is a member of the serine/threonine protein phosphatase family and plays a crucial role in the normal functioning of the visual system. PPEF-2 (41) monoclonal antibody targets proteins localized to the inner segments of photoreceptor cells in the retina and the pineal gland, where PPEF-2 is essential for sensory neuron differentiation and function. The presence of two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs in PPEF-2′s C terminus allows interaction with calcium ions, which is vital for regulatory role in cellular signaling pathways. PPEF-2 shares significant sequence similarity with the Drosophila retinal degeneration C (rdgC) gene, highlighting evolutionary conservation and importance in sensory neuron function. Expression of a 3.7-kb PPEF-2 mRNA in the rat retina underscores specific role in visual processing, making anti-PPEF-2 antibody (41) an invaluable tool for researchers studying sensory neuron biology and related disorders.

What blocking solution should I use with PPEF-2 (41): sc-293044 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
