PPARα Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Alpha (PPARα), also known as NR1C1, PPARA, or peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha. PPARα monoclonal antibody (H-2) is raised against amino acids 1-98 of the human PPARα protein, ensuring effective recognition in various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) across multiple species such as mouse, rat, and human. PPARα is a nuclear hormone receptor characterized by its modular structure, which includes a DNA-binding domain, a ligand-binding domain, and an N-terminal activation domain. This structural configuration is essential for PPARα′s function in regulating gene expression, as PPARα forms heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs) and binds to specific PPAR-response elements (PPREs) within the DNA. In my experiments, I see multiple bands with this antibody, and a much stronger band above 55 kDa. In your pictures, I also see extra bands, but MWs aren’t specified. How do I know if these are real PTMs or non-specific?

the antibody detects a strong signal larger than 55 kda in my cells. also double bands are shown in your example pictures. how do you explain these double bands, although the expected size of ppar alpha is 55 kda?

Thank you for your question. PPARα Antibody (H-2): sc-398394 is against amino acid range 1-98 of PPARα of human origin and will recognize any alternative splice variants possessing this particular sequence. Post-translational modifications of the protein will also contribute to its observed molecular weight in western blots.

Can antibody PPARa (H-2) 398384 be diluted in TBS-T?

Thank you for your question. For applications that require blocking we recommend using UltraCruz® Blocking Reagent: sc-516214, milk TBS-T, or BSA in TBS-T as diluents. Otherwise, just TBS-T is suitable for diluting the antibody as well.

Hi I need to stain PPar alpha on tissues from rabbit aortas for IHC. is this antibody good for it? Would it be better the unconiugated for or the HRP one? Thanks.

I am processing Chromatin samples from mouse liver hepatocytes. I would like to know what would be the recommended dilution? I did not purchase the Trans Cruz antibody so starting with a diluted concentration.
