PN-1 Antibody (4B3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the PN-1 protein of mouse and rat origin, and to a lesser extent, human origin, by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-PN-1 antibody (4B3) targets protease nexin-1 (PN-1), a member of the serine protease inhibitor (serpin) superfamily, which plays a crucial role in regulating various physiological processes, including blood coagulation and tissue remodeling. PN-1 (4B3) monoclonal antibody recognizes PN-1 primarily located in the extracellular matrix and secreted by various cell types, where PN-1 functions to inhibit serine proteases such as thrombin and urokinase. This inhibition is vital for maintaining homeostasis in the nervous system, particularly during neural injury and repair processes, as PN-1 helps to prevent excessive proteolytic activity that could lead to tissue damage. Notably, an imbalance between PN-1 and thrombin has been implicated in the pathology of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer′s disease, highlighting PN-1′s importance in both normal physiological functions and disease states. With PN-1′s ability to modulate protease activity, this protein is essential for cellular invasiveness, matrix degradation, and tumor growth, making anti-PN-1 antibody (4B3) a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.
