PLUNC Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects palate lung nasal epithelial clone (PLUNC) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PLUNC is an airway-specific secretory protein predominantly expressed in the epithelial tissues and submucosal glands of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract, playing a critical role in the innate immune response. Anti-PLUNC antibody (C-5) binds to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) found in nasal lavage fluid, which highlights PLUNC′s importance in modulating the inflammatory response following exposure to airborne irritants. Notably, decreased levels of PLUNC have been observed in the nasal lavage fluid of smokers and individuals exposed to reactive epoxy chemicals, suggesting that chronic exposure to such irritants can impair PLUNC production, potentially leading to increased susceptibility to respiratory diseases. Furthermore, abnormal expression of PLUNC has been linked to a higher risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in the Chinese population, underscoring PLUNC′s significance in both respiratory health and cancer susceptibility. PLUNC (C-5) antibody serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating airway inflammation and related pathologies.
