PLC δ1 Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C δ1 (PLC δ1) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PLC δ1 plays a pivotal role in calcium signaling, acting as a calcium signal amplifier that is activated by atypical GTP-binding proteins, thereby facilitating critical receptor-mediated signal transduction pathways. PLC δ1 is predominantly expressed in the brain, heart, lung, and testis, and abnormal PLC δ1 accumulation has been observed in the brains of individuals with Alzheimer′s disease, indicating a potential involvement in the disease′s pathology. The structure of PLC δ1 includes several functional domains that enable calcium binding as a cofactor, which is essential for enzymatic activity in generating the second messengers diacylglycerol and inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate from phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. Understanding the structural characteristics of PLC δ1 is crucial, as these features dictate functional capabilities and interactions with other signaling molecules, thereby influencing various physiological processes. Anti-PLC δ1 antibody (B-9) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the intricate signaling pathways mediated by phospholipase C and its implications in health and disease.
