SEE ALSO...

Plasminogen Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects plasminogen from mouse, rat, and human sources through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Plasminogen (G-7) antibody is available non-conjugated or conjugated to agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants. Plasminogen plays a crucial role in the fibrinolytic system, converting to plasmin to break down fibrin in blood clots. This conversion maintains hemostasis and prevents excessive clot formation that could lead to thrombosis. Plasminogen′s structure includes a 561-amino acid heavy chain and 230-amino acid light chain, both essential for enzymatic activity and protein interactions in the fibrinolytic cascade. The heavy chain contains the catalytic domain for plasmin′s proteolytic activity, while the light chain regulates plasminogen activation. Understanding plasminogen′s structure and conversion to plasmin helps develop therapeutic strategies for modulating fibrinolysis in cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
