PIASy Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PIASy protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PIASy antibody (C-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PIASy, a 510 amino acid transcriptional corepressor, plays a crucial role in regulating the activity of the androgen receptor (AR) and is involved in the modulation of p53-mediated events, potentially directing p53 into a transactivation-independent mode of apoptosis. This regulation influences cellular responses to stress and can impact tumorigenesis. PIASy belongs to the PIAS family, which serves as negative regulators of signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) proteins, thereby fine-tuning the cellular response to cytokines from the IL-6-type family. PIASy′s ability to coactivate steroid receptor-dependent transcription further underscores its importance in gene regulation and cellular differentiation processes.
