SEE ALSO...

G3PP/PGP Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PGP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). G3PP/PGP (E-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. G3PP/PGP protein, also known as phosphoglycolate phosphatase, is a 321 amino acid enzyme that belongs to the HAD-like hydrolase superfamily and the CbbY/cbbZ/gph/yieH family. This enzyme plays a crucial role in regulating oxygen transport by modulating the levels of 2,3-diphosphoglycerate in red blood cells, which is essential for the proper release of oxygen from hemoglobin to tissues. G3PP/PGP is expressed in various tissues, including red blood cells, lymphocytes, and cultured fibroblasts, with the highest enzymatic activity found in skeletal and cardiac muscle. The gene encoding G3PP/PGP is located on human chromosome 16, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, highlighting the importance of G3PP/PGP in both normal physiology and disease states.

I am using PGP (E-10): sc-390883 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Hi, what is the second antibody we could use for this new PGP antibody(E-10)??

Asked by: muves
Thank you for your question. You can use any anti-mouse secondary antibody reagent. We offer a brand new product to use against this mouse monoclonal antibody: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety These are mouse IgG binding proteins and are strongly recommended alternatives to conventional goat/rabbit anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies. Because they are highly specific reagents, they provide strong signal with minimal background and virtually complete elimination of lot to lot variation associated with conventionally generated secondary antibodies. We would be happy to send you a free sample of any of these reagents! Please contact Technical Service by phone, (800)-457-3801 option 2, email <scbt@scbt.com>, or by live chat directly on our website, www.scbt.com.

hello I have a question about sc-390883, I want to use this antibody for western blotting and I want to know what dilution I should use from this?

Asked by: melika
Thank you for your question. We recommend using this antibody, sc-390883: PGP (E-10), at a starting dilution of 1:200 in Western blotting, with a optimal range between 1:100-1:1,000, which should be determined through titration.
