PGC-1α Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody raised against amino acids 1–300 near the N-terminus of human PGC-1α, capable of detecting PGC-1α from mouse, rat, and human origins via western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGC-1α (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha) is a pivotal transcriptional coactivator involved in regulating energy metabolism, mitochondrial biogenesis, and adaptive thermogenesis, interacting with a variety of nuclear receptors and transcription factors, including PPARγ, PPARα, NRF1, MEF2C, and estrogen-related receptors like ERRα, to enhance their transcriptional activities. Upon activation, PGC-1α associates with co-activators such as SRC-1 and CBP/p300, which possess histone acetyltransferase activity leading to chromatin remodeling and increased gene expression.
