    SEE ALSO...

PFKL Antibody (YT4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects phosphofructokinase, liver (PFKL) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PFKL is a crucial regulatory enzyme in the glycolytic pathway, catalyzing the irreversible conversion of fructose-6-phosphate to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate, a key step in glucose metabolism. This enzyme is predominantly expressed in tissues involved in gluconeogenesis, such as the liver and kidney, where PFKL plays a significant role in regulating energy production and glucose homeostasis. The structure of PFKL as a tetramer, composed of various isoenzymes, allows for complex regulation and adaptation to metabolic demands, making PFKL essential for maintaining proper cellular function. Notably, alterations in PFKL expression have been linked to metabolic disorders, including PFKL overexpression in Down′s syndrome patients, which may contribute to the pathogenesis of the condition. Anti-PFKL antibody (YT4) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the role of this enzyme in metabolic regulation and its implications in various diseases.
