    SEE ALSO...

Peroxin 1 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Peroxin 1 (PEX1) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PEX1 antibody (D-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PEX1 plays a crucial role in peroxisome biogenesis, which is essential for the proper functioning of peroxisomes—organelles that are vital for various metabolic processes, including the breakdown of very long-chain fatty acids and the detoxification of hydrogen peroxide. Specifically, PEX1 is involved in the stability of Pex5, a protein that facilitates the import of other proteins into the peroxisome matrix. This import process is critical because PEX1 ensures that enzymes necessary for fatty acid metabolism and other biochemical pathways are present in the peroxisome, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing the accumulation of toxic substances. PEX1 interaction with Pex26 anchors PEX1 to the peroxisome membrane, forming heteromeric AAA ATPase complexes that are indispensable for the import of proteins into peroxisomes. This intricate mechanism highlights PEX1′s importance in cellular metabolism and potential implications in metabolic disorders when peroxisome function is compromised.
