SEE ALSO...

Per1 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Per1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Per1 antibody (E-8) is available as the non-conjugated form. Per1 protein plays a crucial role in the regulation of circadian rhythms, which are essential for maintaining various physiological processes, including sleep-wake cycles and hormonal secretions. Located primarily in the cytoplasm, the full-length Per1 isoform is vital for function in the cellular clock mechanism, while a shorter nuclear isoform also exists, indicating a complex regulatory role in gene expression. Per1 interaction with other proteins, such as Timeless (Tim), helps modulate the transcriptional activity of the Clock-BMAL1 complex, which is central to circadian rhythm regulation. Mutations in the Clock gene can disrupt these rhythms, leading to various health issues, underscoring the importance of studying Per1 and its interactions. Per1 (E-8) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying circadian biology.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398890 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It is not useful for immunohistochemitryWe processed rat brain tissue sections (perfused in PFA, postfixed in PFA and cryoprotected in sucrose) of the same subject with different dilutions and with a polyclonal antibody that has resulted very good for our purposes. The monoclonal Per-1 (E-8) did not give a good immunostaining. Moreover, it uncovered structures that look like blood vessels and obstruct a good appreciation of the Per-1 IR cells. It is important to indicate that such vessels were not vissible with our reference antibody.
