PEPCK Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody designed to target Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK), also known as PCK1 and PCK2. PEPCK monoclonal antibody (F-3) is raised against amino acids 341-640 at the C-terminus of the mitochondrial form of human PEPCK (PEPCK-M), ensuring precise recognition of both PEPCK-M and the cytosolic form (PEPCK-C) across mouse, rat, and human species. PEPCK is a crucial enzyme located in both the cytosol and mitochondria of liver cells, where PEPCK plays a vital role in gluconeogenesis, the metabolic pathway responsible for producing glucose from non-carbohydrate sources. The dual localization of PEPCK-C and PEPCK-M allows for efficient regulation of glucose synthesis in response to hormonal signals such as glucagon, glucocorticoids, and insulin, which modulate expression levels. Dysregulation of PEPCK activity is closely associated with metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes and obesity, making PEPCK a significant target for therapeutic research. Anti-PEPCK antibody (F-3) is versatile in applications, suitable for western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Additionally, PEPCK (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants, providing flexibility for diverse experimental needs. By enabling precise detection and study of PEPCK in different cellular compartments, anti-PEPCK antibody (F-3) supports advanced research into metabolic regulation and the development of potential treatments for insulin resistance and related conditions.

Can PEPCK (F-3): sc-271029 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, PEPCK (F-3): sc-271029 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
