PDSS1 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PDSS1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PDSS1 Antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PDSS1, or Decaprenyl-diphosphate synthase subunit 1, plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of isoprenoid quinones, specifically serving as a precursor for the side chains of ubiquinone-10, which is essential for mitochondrial function and energy production. PDSS1 is located in the mitochondria, where PDSS1 forms a heterotetrameric complex with two DPS1/TPRT and two DLP1 subunits, facilitating the synthesis of decaprenyl diphosphate. This localization is vital because PDSS1 ensures that the production of ubiquinone-10 occurs in close proximity to the site of its action in the electron transport chain, thereby optimizing ATP synthesis.
