    SEE ALSO...

PDSS1 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PDSS1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PDSS1 Antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PDSS1, or Decaprenyl-diphosphate synthase subunit 1, plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of isoprenoid quinones, specifically serving as a precursor for the side chains of ubiquinone-10, which is essential for mitochondrial function and energy production. PDSS1 is located in the mitochondria, where PDSS1 forms a heterotetrameric complex with two DPS1/TPRT and two DLP1 subunits, facilitating the synthesis of decaprenyl diphosphate. This localization is vital because PDSS1 ensures that the production of ubiquinone-10 occurs in close proximity to the site of its action in the electron transport chain, thereby optimizing ATP synthesis. Deficiencies or mutations in PDSS1 can lead to coenzyme Q10 deficiency, which is associated with a range of serious health issues, including reduced ATP synthesis, cerebellar atrophy, and myopathy, as well as reversible renal diseases and infantile multisystemic ataxia. anti-PDSS1 antibody (C-8) provides researchers with a powerful tool to investigate the role of this critical protein in various biological processes and disease states.
