SEE ALSO...

PCP-2 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PCP-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PCP-2 (F-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Purkinje cell protein-2 (PCP-2), also known as L7, is a crucial G protein regulator predominantly found in Purkinje cells and retinal bipolar neurons, playing a significant role in modulating synaptic activity and neural differentiation. PCP-2 is characterized by its GoLoco or GPR motif, which is essential for interaction with the Gαi/o family of G proteins, effectively inhibiting GDP release. This interaction suggests that Gαi/o and PCP-2 colocalization in the cerebellum may influence synaptic function and neuronal development. The physiological effectors of PCP-2 include Purkinje-type calcium channels, which are the primary voltage-dependent channels regulating neuronal output and are modulated by Gi/o proteins. PCP-2 is exclusively detected in higher vertebrates, indicating potential as a marker for evolutionary advancement of cerebellar Purkinje cells, thus underscoring importance in understanding both normal and pathological neural processes.

I need to probe mouse cerebellum for PCP-2. We have this primary antibody already. Can you suggest an HRP secondary that would work?

Asked by: MRPLAB
Thank you for your question. We recommend using our mouse IgG kappa binding protein (m-IgGκ BP) conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP), m-IgGκ BP-HRP: sc-516102, as a secondary antibody for detection of this primary antibody. This secondary specifically recognizes only the kappa light chain of mouse IgG, and so it is much more specific than conventional anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies. This could be very beneficial if you are probing mouse tissue extracts in Western blot which tend to be dirtier and have more non-specific binding interactions. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/product/m-igg-kappa-bp-hrp
