    SEE ALSO...

PCDH21 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PCDH21 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PCDH21 (G-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PCDH21, also known as protocadherin 21, is a crucial component of the protocadherin family, which plays a significant role in cell adhesion and neuronal connectivity. PCDH21 is primarily localized to the outer segments of photoreceptor cells in the retina, where PCDH21 is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of these cells. The presence of six cadherin domains in PCDH21 facilitates calcium-dependent interactions that are vital for the formation and maintenance of synaptic connections in the nervous system. Additionally, PCDH21 exists in multiple alternatively spliced isoforms, which may contribute to functional diversity in neuronal networks. Understanding PCDH21′s role in cell adhesion and implications in retinal health underscores PCDH21′s importance in both basic research and potential therapeutic applications.
