SEE ALSO...

PARL Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PARL protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PARL (F-3) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The presenilins associated rhombiod-like protein (PARL) is a crucial mitochondrial intramembrane-cleaving protease that belongs to the S54 family of proteins, playing a significant role in intramembrane regulated proteolysis. PARL is essential for cleaving signaling proteins at intracellular membranes, which releases active fragments vital for signal transduction cascades. PARL utilizes a triad of histidine, serine, and asparagine residues to effectively cleave type-1 transmembrane domains, thereby influencing various cellular processes. PARL is a multi-pass membrane protein that localizes to both inner and outer mitochondrial membranes, but can also be detected in the nucleus following proteolytic processing of P-beta. PARL co-localizes with presenilins PSEN1 and PSEN2, which are implicated in familial Alzheimer′s disease, highlighting its importance in neurodegenerative conditions.
