Datasheets
  • pan cathepsin Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 107-145 near the N-terminus of cathepsin of human origin
  • recommended for detection of a broad range of cathepsin proteins of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG2a BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for pan cathepsin Antibody (D-2) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with pan cathepsin Antibody (D-2) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

Pan cathepsin Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects pan cathepsin in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-pan cathepsin antibody (D-2) targets a crucial family of proteolytic enzymes known as cathepsins, which play significant roles in cellular metabolism, including peptide biosynthesis and protein degradation. Cathepsin L is particularly noteworthy due to structural similarity to cathepsin H, and is primarily localized in lysosomes, where cathepsin L is involved in degradation of extracellular matrix components and processing of antigenic peptides for presentation by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. This localization is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating immune responses, as dysregulation of cathepsin activity has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Pan cathepsin (D-2) antibody serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating the roles of these proteases in health and disease, enabling a deeper understanding of their functions and interactions within the cellular environment.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377017 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
