PACT Antibody (HL1950) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects PACT in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). PACT, also known as PKR-associated protein X, plays a crucial role in the cellular response to stress by activating the protein kinase PKR, which subsequently leads to the phosphorylation of eIF2α, a key regulator of protein synthesis. This process is vital for controlling cell survival and apoptosis, particularly under conditions of stress such as serum starvation or oxidative stress. Notably, PACT′s ability to activate PKR is influenced by phosphorylation status; specifically, the non-phosphorylated form of PACT is unable to activate PKR, highlighting the importance of post-translational modifications in regulating function.
