p55 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects p55 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p55 antibody (A-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p55 is an extensively palmitoylated erythrocyte membrane protein belonging to the MAGUK family, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity and functionality of the erythrocyte membrane. p55′s unique structure includes a PDZ/DHR domain and a conserved SH-3 domain, which suppresses the tyrosine kinase activity of various oncoproteins, thereby contributing to cellular signaling pathways that regulate cell growth and differentiation. p55 interacts with glycophorin C and the cytoskeletal protein 4.1R, suggesting involvement in the dynamic regulation of the erythrocyte membrane, which is essential for maintaining red blood cell shape and flexibility during circulation. p55 gene expression in vivo is associated with a CpG island, and constitutively expressed in K562 erythroleukemia cells during erythropoiesis, showing a two-fold amplification upon induction. p55 (A-7) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying erythrocyte biology and related signaling pathways.
