p40-phox Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects p40-phox of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p40-phox antibody (D-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p40-phox plays a crucial role in activating the NADPH oxidase complex, essential for producing reactive oxygen species during immune response. p40-phox is primarily located in the cytosol and translocates to the membrane upon neutrophil activation, where p40-phox interacts with other cytosolic components such as p47-phox and p67-phox to form a functional oxidase complex. Proper localization and interaction of p40-phox are vital for effective superoxide generation, critical for microbial killing and inflammation. p40-phox undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation at specific sites, which regulate activity and interaction with other proteins in the NADPH oxidase complex. Understanding p40-phox dynamics and role in immune response can provide insights into various inflammatory diseases and potential therapeutic targets.
