    SEE ALSO...

p-SMC1 Antibody (5D11G5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ser 957 phosphorylated SMC1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. anti-p-SMC1 antibody (5D11G5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SMC1, part of the structural maintenance of chromosomes family, plays a crucial role in maintaining sister chromatid cohesion and facilitating chromosome condensation during mitosis, which is essential for accurate cell division. The SMC1/SMC3 complex is particularly important for metaphase progression in mitotic cells, functioning independently of the SMC2/SMC4 complex throughout the cell cycle. SMC1 is ubiquitously expressed across various human tissues, including the thymus, testis, and colon, highlighting a fundamental role in cellular processes. Understanding SMC1 phosphorylation dynamics is vital for elucidating mechanisms of cell cycle regulation and potential implications in cancer biology, where dysregulation of these processes can lead to tumorigenesis.
