SEE ALSO...

p-PKC α Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects phosphorylated protein kinase C alpha (p-PKC α) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-PKC α Antibody (A-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The protein kinase C (PKC) family, to which p-PKC α belongs, is crucial for regulating numerous cellular processes, such as cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis, making p-PKC α a significant target for understanding various diseases, including cancer. p-PKC α is primarily located in the cytoplasm and can translocate to the plasma membrane upon activation, which is essential for signal transduction pathways. This translocation enables activation of downstream signaling cascades that influence cellular responses to growth factors and hormones. Phosphorylation of Ser 657 modulates p-PKC α activity, allowing participation in critical cellular functions. Understanding p-PKC α localization and activation can provide insights into pathophysiological conditions and potential therapeutic targets.

Can the peptide sc-377565 P be used in Western Blot as a positive control?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide sc-377565 P is a short synthetic peptide and is intended for use as a negative control. It is not approriate for use in Western Blot as a positive control.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No signal for some samplesI did not detect bands in all my samples. Maybe it had to do with very low phosphorylation levels for some conditions

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Faint signal in western blottingI used mouse Hepa1-6 cell lysates with loading gradient to check this antibody in western blotting. Antibody was diluted 1000X and incubated at 4℃ overnight. The exposure results showed one single band at around 55KD. But I didn’t use si specific genes to check whether this band was specific.
