SEE ALSO...

p-BRCA1 Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ser 988 phosphorylated BRCA1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-BRCA1 (G-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BRCA1 plays a crucial role in maintaining genomic stability and is essential for DNA double-strand break repair through homologous recombination. BRCA1 function is particularly important in cancer biology, as mutations or dysregulation can lead to increased susceptibility to breast and ovarian cancers. Phosphorylation of BRCA1 at Serine 988 serves as a key regulatory mechanism that influences activity and interactions with other proteins involved in DNA damage response. This phosphorylation event enables BRCA1 release from Chk2, allowing effective participation in repair processes and restoration of cell survival following DNA damage. BRCA1 undergoes various post-translational modifications that further modulate function and interactions, highlighting complex regulatory mechanisms in cellular processes.
