p-4E-BP1/2/3 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects p-4E-BP1/2/3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-4E-BP1/2/3 (A-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p-4E-BP1, also known as PHAS-1, plays a crucial role in regulating protein synthesis by interacting with eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E), which is essential for cap-dependent translation initiation. Under normal conditions, p-4E-BP1 binds to eIF4E, preventing eIF4F complex assembly and inhibiting translation. When hyper-phosphorylated, p-4E-BP1 releases from eIF4E, activating cap-dependent translation necessary for cellular growth and proliferation. PI3-kinase/Akt pathway and mTOR kinase regulate p-4E-BP1 phosphorylation, highlighting p-4E-BP1′s importance in cellular signaling pathways responding to growth factors and nutrients.
