Ox-LDL R-1 Antibody (LOX19-22) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Ox-LDL R-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ox-LDL R-1 antibody (LOX19-22) is available as a non-conjugated format. The oxidized low density lipoprotein (lectin-like) receptor-1, also known as Ox-LDL R-1, is a type II membrane protein belonging to the C-type lectin family, functioning as a critical cell-surface receptor for oxidized low density lipoprotein (Ox-LDL). Ox-LDL R-1 (LOX19-22) antibody recognizes a receptor that plays a significant role in atherosclerosis pathogenesis, particularly in transforming monocyte-derived macrophages into foam cells within atherosclerotic lesions. The interaction between Ox-LDL and Ox-LDL R-1 can activate the NFkB signaling pathway, which is pivotal in inflammatory responses. Ox-LDL R-1 is expressed in various cell types, including vascular endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and macrophages, and is initially synthesized as a precursor form with N-linked high mannose carbohydrate chains. N-linked glycosylation is essential for proper transport of Ox-LDL R-1 to the cell surface and efficient binding to ligands, thereby influencing receptor′s functional capacity in mediating cellular responses to oxidized lipoproteins.
