Ox-LDL R-1 Antibody (X-4) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Ox-LDL R-1 of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ox-LDL R-1 antibody (X-4) is available in a non-conjugated form, specifically designed for researchers studying oxidized low-density lipoprotein (lectin-like) receptor-1, a type II membrane protein belonging to the C-type lectin family. This receptor plays a crucial role in atherosclerosis pathophysiology by mediating oxidized low-density lipoprotein (Ox-LDL) uptake, which drives monocyte-derived macrophages′ transformation into foam cells within atherosclerotic lesions. Ox-LDL and Ox-LDL R-1 interaction facilitates lipid accumulation and activates NFkB signaling pathway, leading to inflammatory responses that worsen cardiovascular diseases. Ox-LDL R-1, also known as scavenger receptor class E, member 1 (SCARE1), lectin-type oxidized LDL receptor 1 (LOX-1), and CLEC8A, is mainly expressed in vascular endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and macrophages. Ox-LDL R-1 exists in two forms: an endogenous precursor with N-linked high mannose carbohydrate chains and a mature form resulting from further glycosylation. N-linked glycosylation of Ox-LDL R-1 ensures proper cell surface localization and optimal ligand binding, highlighting its importance in cellular interactions and signaling pathways related to lipid metabolism and inflammation.
