SEE ALSO...

OTX2 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OTX2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OTX2 Antibody (D-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OTX2 plays a crucial role in early brain development, particularly in the specification of the anterior neural plate and the organization of the primitive streak, which are essential for proper fore-midbrain formation. This transcription factor is vital for the early specification of the neuroectoderm, which ultimately contributes to the development of critical brain structures. Additionally, OTX2 interacts with other transcription factors, such as OTX1, to regulate brain patterning through a dosage-dependent mechanism, ensuring that the isthmic region is correctly positioned and that anterior brain structures are properly formed. The precise regulation of OTX2 levels is essential, as deviations can lead to developmental disorders. The genes encoding OTX1 and OTX2 are located on human chromosomes 2p13 and 14q21-q22, respectively, highlighting their evolutionary conservation and importance in neurodevelopmental processes.
