Optineurin Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Optineurin (OPTN) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-OPTN antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OPTN (C-2) antibody recognizes a protein also known as FIP2, E3-14.7K-interacting protein, and NEMO-related protein, which plays a crucial role in cellular processes such as cell morphogenesis, membrane trafficking, and transcriptional activation through interactions with key proteins like Rab8 and Huntingtin. OPTN monoclonal antibody (C-2) targets a protein involved in regulating apoptosis and inflammation, potentially utilizing pathways associated with tumor necrosis factor alpha or FAS-ligand. Mutations in OPTN have been linked to normal-tension glaucoma and adult-onset primary open-angle glaucoma, highlighting significance in ocular health. Structurally, OPTN is a 617 amino acid protein characterized by leucine zippers and leucine-rich regions, as well as a potential Cys2-His-Cys zinc finger motif located between residues 553 and 582, which may play a role in functional interactions. OPTN is primarily localized to the Golgi apparatus, with expression in various human tissues, including trabecular meshwork, retina, brain, and liver, indicating diverse biological roles.
