SEE ALSO...

Opalin Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Opalin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Opalin (H-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Opalin, also known as HTMP10, oligodendrocytic myelin paranodal and inner loop protein, or transmembrane protein 10 (TMEM10), is a 141 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the central nervous system by being specifically expressed in oligodendrocytes, the cells responsible for myelinating axons in the brain. The localization of Opalin in oligodendrocytes is vital for maintaining the integrity of myelin sheaths, which are essential for efficient nerve signal transmission. Disruption of Opalin function can lead to demyelination and is implicated in various neurological disorders, highlighting Opalin′s importance in both normal brain function and disease pathology. The gene encoding Opalin is located on human chromosome 10q24.1, a region that spans nearly 135 million base pairs and encodes approximately 1,200 genes, some of which are associated with conditions such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2.

Are there any issues with using sc-374490: Opalin (H-12) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-374490 conjugates.
