SEE ALSO...

OCRL Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OCRL protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-OCRL antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OCRL protein, a type II inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatase, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by selectively dephosphorylating phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate and other phosphoinositides, which are vital for generating second messengers in response to extracellular stimuli. Mutations in the OCRL1 gene are associated with the oculocerebrorenal syndrome of Lowe, a rare X-linked disorder characterized by congenital cataracts, cognitive impairment, muscular hypotonia, and renal tubular dysfunction. OCRL1 is localized to the Golgi complex and is involved in the trans-Golgi network, highlighting its importance in protein sorting and trafficking within the cell. OCRL1′s ability to interact with specific phosphoinositides underscores its significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling pathways, making OCRL (C-2) antibody an essential tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.
