OBFC1 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects OBFC1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OBFC1, or oligonucleotide/oligosaccharide-binding fold containing 1, is a 368 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in nucleic acid binding, which is essential for various cellular processes including DNA replication, repair, and transcription. OBFC1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where OBFC1 interacts with nucleic acids and is involved in maintaining genomic stability. OBFC1′s ability to bind to single-stranded DNA and RNA makes anti-OBFC1 antibody (A-6) vital for the proper functioning of the cellular machinery that ensures accurate genetic information transfer and response to cellular stress. Additionally, OBFC1 may exist in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which can influence functional properties and interactions with other proteins. OBFC1′s versatility in binding nucleic acids underscores OBFC1′s importance in cellular processes, making OBFC1 (A-6) antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying nucleic acid dynamics and related pathways in human cells.

What blocking solution should I use with OBFC1 (A-6): sc-374178 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
