SEE ALSO...

OATP-F Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OATP-F protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OATP-F (G-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OATP-F protein, also known as SLCO1C1 or SLC21A14, is a 712 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in hepatic uptake of organic anions, including thyroid hormones such as thyroxine (T4) and reverse triiodothyronine (rT3). This transport function is vital for maintaining thyroid hormone homeostasis, which is essential for regulating metabolism, growth, and development. OATP-F is predominantly expressed in Leydig cells of testis and brain, highlighting OATP-F′s importance in both reproductive and neurological functions. Additionally, OATP-F is involved in transport of other compounds, such as estrone-3-sulfate and sulfobromophthalein, albeit at lower efficiencies, making OATP-F a significant player in drug metabolism and disposition.
