    SEE ALSO...

OAT6 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects OAT6 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OAT6 (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OAT6, also known as organic anion transporter 6, is a 555 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the uptake of estrone sulfate, a key steroid hormone involved in various physiological processes, including reproduction and metabolism. OAT6 is part of the larger organic anion transporter family, which is essential for the absorption, distribution, and excretion of a wide range of endogenous metabolites and exogenous compounds, such as drugs and toxins. Proper functioning of OAT6 is vital, as disruptions can lead to significant health issues, including renal and hepatic toxicity. Additionally, OAT6 is known to be inhibited by several compounds, including probenecid and benzoate, and may also function as an odorant transporter, highlighting its diverse roles in cellular transport mechanisms.
