OAS1 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects OAS1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OAS1 (E-2) antibody recognizes OAS1, a crucial protein that functions as a homotetramer and plays a significant role in the cellular response to viral infections. OAS1 (E-2) monoclonal antibody targets OAS1, which is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where OAS1 binds to double-stranded RNA and catalyzes the synthesis of 2′-, 5′- oligomers of adenosine, which are essential for activating the latent RNase L enzyme. The activation of RNase L leads to the degradation of single-stranded RNA, effectively inhibiting cellular protein synthesis and impairing viral replication, thereby contributing to the host′s antiviral defense mechanisms. Additionally, OAS1 is involved in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis, making OAS1 a vital component in various cellular processes. With its 400 amino acid structure, OAS1 is also implicated in the interferon response and has been associated with susceptibility to diabetes mellitus, highlighting OAS1′s importance in both viral resistance and metabolic disorders.
