Nup98 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Nup98 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Nup98 antibody (C-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nup98 plays a critical role in the structure and function of nuclear pore complexes (NPCs), which are essential for regulated transport of macromolecules between nucleus and cytoplasm. These complexes are composed of over 100 different proteins known as nucleoporins, which include Nup98. Nup98′s unique structure, characterized by O-linked N-acetylglucosamine modifications and a pentapeptide repeat motif, is vital for interaction with other nucleoporins and maintaining nuclear pore complex integrity. Nup98 is involved in RNA export from nucleus, facilitating transport of mRNA and other RNA species, which is crucial for gene expression regulation. Additionally, NUP98 gene is implicated in certain leukemias due to fusion with HoxA9 gene, leading to aberrant nucleocytoplasmic transport and disrupted cellular differentiation. This makes Nup98 not only a key player in normal cellular processes but also a significant factor in cancer pathology, highlighting importance in both basic research and clinical applications.
