Nup93 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Nup93 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Nup93 antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nup93, or nucleoporin 93, plays a pivotal role in the structure and function of the nuclear pore complex (NPC), which is essential for regulating the transport of molecules between the nucleus and cytoplasm in eukaryotic cells. Nup93 is primarily located on the nuclear side of the NPC, particularly within the basket terminal ring area, where Nup93 forms a complex with other nucleoporins such as Nup188, Nup53, and Nup205. This interaction is vital for maintaining NPC stability and ensuring proper assembly, as Nup93 constitutes over 10% of the total mass of the NPC, making Nup93 the most abundant nucleoporin. The structural integrity of Nup93, characterized by a coiled-coil domain at the N-terminus and a C-terminal helical domain, is crucial for function, as any disruption can lead to impaired nucleocytoplasmic transport and ultimately affect cell viability.
