SEE ALSO...

NT5C3 Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NT5C3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NT5C3 (E-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NT5C3, also known as 5′-nucleotidase, cytosolic III, P5N1, or UMPH1, is a crucial enzyme that plays a significant role in nucleotide metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of nucleotides into nucleosides and phosphates. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining nucleotide homeostasis within cells, which is essential for various cellular processes, including DNA and RNA synthesis, energy metabolism, and signal transduction. NT5C3 is predominantly expressed in lymphocytes and reticulocytes, and exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms that localize to either the cytoplasm or the endoplasmic reticulum. NT5C3 functions as a monomer and exhibits both nucleotidase and phosphotransferase activities, effectively converting 5′-ribonucleotides to ribonucleosides and free phosphates. Defects in the gene encoding NT5C3 can lead to P5N deficiency, an autosomal recessive disorder associated with hemolytic anemia, learning difficulties, and increased susceptibility to lead poisoning, highlighting NT5C3′s critical role in cellular health and function.
