SEE ALSO...

NPY5-R Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NPY5-R protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NPY5-R antibody (H-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NPY5-R protein plays a crucial role in regulating feeding behavior and energy homeostasis, as NPY5-R is involved in signaling pathways of neuropeptides that influence appetite and satiety. NPY5-R is primarily localized in the paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus and lateral hypothalamus, areas of the brain integral to food intake control. NPY5-R gene is located on human chromosome 4q32.2, and NPY5-R expression is essential for maintaining energy balance, making NPY5-R a significant target for research into obesity and metabolic disorders. Additionally, NPY5-R shares structural similarities with other neuropeptide Y receptors, such as NPY1-R, NPY2-R, and NPY4-R, which further underscores NPY5-R importance in neuroendocrine signaling.

Dear Sir/Madam, I might have one question for this antibody sc-137167. Is this from mouse ascites or hybridoma supernatant? When this is from the ascites, I might consider some techniques to remove unwanted immunoglobulin from the mouse itself.  Sincerely

Asked by: searcher
Thank you for your question. We provide this antibody, NPY5-R (H-4): sc-137167, as 200 µg of purified mouse IgG2b from a hybridoma in 1 mL of PBS with < 0.1% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-137167 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
