Notch 3 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa light chain antibody that specifically recognizes an epitope mapping between amino acids 2290–2316 near the C-terminus of Notch 3, a transmembrane receptor also known as NOTCH3 or Notch receptor 3, in mouse, rat, and human tissues by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Notch 3 is a critical member of the LIN-12/Notch family involved in cell fate determination, playing a pivotal role in regulating cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis during development and in adult organisms. The Notch signaling pathway, mediated by interactions with ligands such as Jagged1, Jagged2, and Delta-like proteins, is essential for proper vascular development and function, particularly in vascular smooth muscle cells. Mutations in the Notch 3 gene are associated with cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL), emphasizing its importance in vascular integrity and neurological health.
